Hi,

The factory code is printed on the SJB(smart junction box) label affixed to the SJB. The SJB is located at the left rear of the engine compartment:

Eric, how do I access that SJB? It seems to be covered with a black box all along the back. Do I need to take it to a dealer? I'm a mom - not a mechanic :)

Hi,

It is a little difficult to access and remove(the sticker is on the backside of the SJB). If you are not comfortable working around electrical(system holds a static charge), I would say to take it to an independent shop. they can access and retreive the code for about a half hour labor($30-50). if you go to the dealership, they will retreive the factory code using a Ford factory scanner hooked to your computer. Most dealers charge 1 hour labor for this($90-110).
