I am being told that the lift gate Module and connector need

Customer Question

I am being told that the lift gate Module and connector need to be replaced because water leaked into the area. How would that happen and can I just return it to a manual lift state. I do not think $8500.00 to fix this issue is needed for a 2009 vehicle with a $17K value
JA: What part of the car is the leak coming from? And are you sure it's water?
Customer: He said it was the sun roof which we never ever use
JA: What is the model of your '00 Mercedes?
Customer: 450GL
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I have it at a MB shop
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No ma'am

can you ask them for a detailed parts and labor quote and upload that to me? 8500$ sounds like 1500$ too much!! that is insane!
