Driver's side windows, both front and rear, do not go up or down.
JA: Is this your first time dealing with this issue?
Customer: Yes, but for a few days prior, the windows on that side seemed to come down on their own sometimes, without me working the switch.
JA: What is the model/year of your Mercedes?
Customer: 2002 e320
JA: Are you fixing your E320 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes. I have only begun to research possible causes online.

Hi, welcome to Just Answer. My name is***** would first try disconnecting the negative battery cable for 10 minutes then reconnect it and see if the windows work. Disconnecting the cable will reset the vehicle network and may allow the windows to operate.

Ok, the next most likely fault would be with the window switch panel. Did it get wet recently? Usually a drink will spill or the sunroof gets left open and rain gets to the switch panel and causes problems. I'd suggest trying a new or used window switch panel.

Is the window switch panel the assy that the switches are mounted in?

Yes, all of the switches are part of the same panel. They are not separately replaceable.
