Have Mercedes Questions? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Hello my name is***** am an ASE Master Technician and I am glad to help you out with your question.
You need to figure out which of these you do not have. Spark, fuel, compression
Check spark first, then fuel pressure, injector pulse and finally compression. If it is cranking then its not a security issue.
Please reply to this if you need more help and we can continue this conversation. If you are satisfied with my service, please rate at the top of the screen. Rating does not close out your question. Remember, sometimes it is difficult to completely diagnose your vehicle without being there, but I will try to give you the best answer I can. If I am not giving you 5 star service, please let me know what I missed.
Have you scanned for any codes?
Those codes can set if the mechanical timing is off as well. You may have a timing chain problem. If the cam and crank sensor signals do not match up the computer will not allow it to start.
Unplug cam sensors and try to start it.
p0455 will not cause a no start. Check engine light came on while driving? I thought it didn't start.
It is possible you have a fuel pump issue, I have seen this before, sometimes start and then not start. The pump could be on its way out. This would cause your issue.
Connect a fuel pressure gauge and tape it to the windshield. Drive it around until you can get the no start to occur and see what the pressure is.
You can also listen carefully for the fuel pump buzz in the tank.
