1989 Mercedes Benz 420SEL. I have fitted a replacement Throttle Valve Switch MB Pt#(###) ###-#### Question: The elongated mounting screw holes suggest the positioning of the throttle valve switch is adjustable. How do I adjust it and to what setting.

Hi, the switch is to be adjusted so that the idle contact is closed when the throttle plate is closed. Connect an ohmmeter from the middle terminal to one of the outer terminals and adjust the switch so it reads continuity when the throttle is closed and shows open circuit as soon as you open the throttle. Test both outer terminals as one is the idle contact and one is the wide open throttle contact.
