Customer Question

Hello! I have the following message, anti theft protection activated. Please switch the ignition on and restart the system. What do i do?
JA: Ignition switch issues can be tricky, but with the right information -- fixable. Luckily, the mechanic I'm going to connect you with knows all the tricks and shortcuts. Tell me a bit more about what's going on so he can help you best.
Customer: i just had the ignition switch changed yesterday morning and received this message today
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself?
Customer: I don't know is it doable?
JA: Is there anything else important you think the Mercedes Mechanic should know about your Mercedes?
Customer: I don't think so...
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Mercedes Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.

Does the problem happen with all keys?

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
I just have one set of keys
Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 6 months ago.

Have you tried a battery disconnect? That would be a last resort unless you have a scan tool capable of communication with all modules. The problem is most likely either a programming issue or there is an issue with the replacement EIS.
