Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

There are many things that can cause the engine to run poorly. It may be a fuel pressure or quality concern, an ignition system issue such as a spark plulg or coil, or it may be an inaccurate sensor reading causing the engine to run rich or lean. Cylinder sealing/valvetrain issues are also possible.

The first step in diagnosing the problem is to see if any fault codes are setting. Have you checked for codes?
