Hi, welcome to Just Answer. My name is***** your automatic headlights are not functioning there may be a fault with the light sensor that controls the on/off operation of the auto lights. You will need to get the car connected to a Mercedes tester to check for fault codes stored for the light sensor and for the lighting system. There will be fault codes that point to the problem. A faulty light sensor or a fault with the wiring to the sensor would cause the auto lights to malfunction. The light sensor is located on the windshield in front of the rear view mirror.
Let me know if you have any questions.
