Yes it could be.
Did you reuse the timing chain tensioner?
i did fix d car my self
but am beggennin to doubt d mehanic
If the tensioner was not reset, it will destroy the cam
i didnt fix it my self
what about the vibe
The timing chain tensioner must be reset, if it wasnt, it will cause too much tension on the camshaft and break it
the mechanic ssaid d camshaft is only could dat be tru or i should look out for more thing
the timing chain didnt loose out wen d car stops wrking
Well, if it broke while you were driving, the valves may have gotten bent.
could i be lucky on the valves , cause he said i was lucky , that d valves are still ok
You could have gotten lucky but there is no way to tell unless he did a cylinder leak down test.
Your mechanic might have done this though.
as a customer to him how would i have know if it was his fault , cause he just change d timming chain, and after 3rd day d camshaft got broken
Ask him the steps how he installed the tensioner. If he doesnt tell you that he reset it, you know he didnt and thats what damaged the camshaft.
cause he didnt want to accept laibility
You can then show him this text.
A lot of unexperienced mercedes mechanics do the same thing to this engine unfortunately.
what more could cause damage to camshafts
what exactly broke with the camshaft?
he said just d camshaft
let mi ask u dis good question
probably last question
Well, the only thing that would cause that would be improper replacement of the chain by not resetting the tensioner.
what sign do i get if the chain wasnt fit very well
tensiorner reset propaly
You would have worn the chain guiderails prematurely. If the chain wasnt timed right, the engine would have ran very poorly from the start.
Your welcome and good luck. Make sure the mechanic doesnt do the same thing to your new camshaft.
i hope so
