Mercedes-Benz E500 4Matic 2005 model. On start up I feel vibration clearly , and when I turn steering wheel it increases when stationary. At speed I feel little vibration
Hi, I tried to reply to your first question but you may not have been able to view my reply. this sounds like a loss of power steering fluid or a fault with the power steering pump. The first thing to do is have the power steering fluid level checked and corrected and have the system inspected for leakage.

Why is it that vibration gets less at speed?
That is not unusual. It's only because you are moving more fluid through the system at the higher speed.
How can I check level
I have attached a picture of the location of the reservoir. Mercedes power steering uses a special fluid. Use only Mercedes fluid or Pentosin CHF 11S.
Thx so much. Have checked the level, and it seems to be at the min of the 80 degrees line. Do you think this is the answer, or what else can maybe cause vibration, transmission?
You're quite welcome. Yes I think that the low fluid is your problem, especially if the noise changes when you move the steering wheel. I do not think that this is a transmission problem.eurotec41043.6246875347
I will top up and let you know. thx again
