Hi, I have a 2004 Mercedes E500 (black). I hit my right (passenger) side mirror last night and am looking to find a used part that I can buy online (so I don't have to worry about paint or anything else). Any recommendations on where to find the part? Can you also provide instructions on how to replace it? Thanks.

Hi, eBay is always a good place to look and we use Car-Part.com to search for used parts from the salvage yards.
I saw car-part.com when I was searching before, but it seemed like most of the entries specify the color.
*didn't specify the color
Unfortunately you may need to call around.
If you call a local LKQ yard they can run a locate for you.
ok. I'll do that
how much should I expect to pay for the part (used)?
Remove Outside Mirror
Remove Mirror Paneling
I'd say anywhere from $75 - $150 for a used part.
what's the difference between "remove outside mirror" and "remove mirror paneling"?
The mirror must cost a small fortune from the dealer.
You need to first remove the outer mirror cover to remove the whole mirror.
ok
Yeah, I got the other one replaced (not my fault that time) and it cost $1500 at the body shop
I just saw the prices on Car-Part!
They are pretty proud of their used parts!
It's no wonder they want so much for a used part.
yeah, not cheap. are there any options on the mirror? or are they all the same?
They are all the same. You might be able to get away with just the outer cover though.
But if the mirror is flopping around you will need to replace the whole thing.
yeah, the mirror is definitely loose. like falling off.
Ok, then you are probably stuck with a replacement.
yeah, I think so. I'll call the local LKQ yard tomorrow and see what they can find.
thanks!
You're quite welcome
