Have Mercedes Questions? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Hi Jake, have you checked to see if you can manually turn the lights on and off using the overhead switch?
The switch must be in the middle position for automatic function.
Yes. Did all that per the manual.
Tried to turn them on manually and that doesn't work either. Switch is in the middle position.
Ok, do any of the interior lights work? Do the reading lights or the map lights work?
No interior lights work however, radio and radio lights work. Instrument light with speedometer and all gages work. Power socket for recharging cell phone works.
No reading or map lights work.
Ok, can you post your vin number so I can look up some diagrams?
Ok, it looks like fuse 13 in the main fuse box under the hood is responsible for those lights.
I was told on the phone by a MBZ mechanic that something needed to be reset and that if I disconnected the neg end of the battery terminal and let it sit and then reconnected it, it should or could reset and lights work. Not a guarantee though. Performed as he instructed and no changes. :(
There is no reset needed.
Check fuse 13 under the hood.
I am looking for fuse 13 now.
Ok, I sent you a picture
You are a miracle worker. Changed #13 and lights work. Thanks. How do I make sure you get credit for this?
You just need to click Accept.
