Mercedes-Benz E350 4Matic: How do I check the transmission

How do I check the transmission fluid level, how do I add and what type of transmission fluid should I add iff needed. I had the engine oil changed today and the tech said he saw evidence of transmission leak

eurotec :

Hi, there is no transmission dipstick installed on your Mercedes. You will need the Mercedes dipstick tool in order to check the fluid level.

eurotec :

You should use only the Mercedes transmission fluid in the transmission.

eurotec :

The latest part number is XXXXX 989 68 03 10.

eurotec :

The common leak on that transmission is from the electrical harness connector.

eurotec :

The connector is replaceable.

eurotec :

The part number for the connector is 203 540 02 53.

eurotec :

The pan gasket is the other common leak. The part number for the gasket is 140 271 00 80.

eurotec :

The Mercedes dipstick tool is part number 140 589 15 21 00 and it retails for $41.

eurotec :

Let me know if you have any questions.

Customer:

i get a jerky action when i first drive and not warmed up. could the low fluid cause this

eurotec :

It might, but poor engine performance can also cause that type of feel.

Customer:

U mean may need new plugs etc. 95,000 miles

eurotec :

correct, I'd definitely have the fluid level checked but I'm just not confident that it will solve the jerking feeling.

Customer:

ok
