Hi, if the remote locks the car but does not unlock the car I would say that your remote is bad.
ok, how can i just unlock it with out it for now so i can drive?
You can use your blade key that slides out from the remote to unlock the door from the lock cylinder.
my wife lost that a while ago...
anything else that will work?
Then you are going to either need a locksmith to break into the car for you or you need to order a new remote or just a blade key from the dealer. You can also call Mercedes Roadside Assistance and see if they can send out a technician to break into the car.
ave the car open, just the alarm is on and it wont let me start the car... any fuses i cab pull to turn off the alarm??
i have the car open...
All you need to do is insert the key and turn it to disable the alarm.
it wont let me turn...
If the key will not turn then your battery is probably weak.
battery on the key or in the car?
A weak car battery can be responsible for all of the problems.
let me try to turn the key.... i be right back...
ok i got the key to turn but no response... the alarm light was still blinking... no reaction...
You need to try a jump start. This will most likely be either be a weak car battery, a bad key or a bad electronic ignition switch.
The alarm has it's own built in battery. It has nothing to do with the car battery.
so even if the car was locked and alarm was on if the battery is good i should start the car (assuming that the ignition and key battery are good as well...)
The car will start even if the key batteries are bad.
The key batteries are only for the remote.
They do not affect the keys ability to start the car.
i see ok...
so first to check would be car battery? but it worked fine earlier today...
You must start with the car battery first.
Next would be to try another key if you have one.
ok i will. thank you for your help...
You're quite welcome
