Mercedes-Benz B200 How do I reset the oil change interval

Customer Question

How do I reset the oil change interval to zero after a change?
I am distant from the dealer and have a local garage change the oil between major services.
The vehicle is a 2010 B200 non-turbo.

MB Paul :

Hi, the service indicator can be reset on the dash by using the steering wheel controls - I have attached a document explaining the procedure here: Reset Service Indicator - the document is for a different model but the procedure is the same for the B Class. Please take time to read through the instructions before carrying out the reset as pressing the wrong button will bring you out of the menu. Also note that in some rare cases the car will not respond to the reset & in these cases the reset will need to be carried out using a diagnostic tool.

Paul,

The program did not work. This is the procedure followed:

1.Key in position !

2.Current and cumulative mileage displayed.

3.Cluster button pressed, voltage displayed.

4.Service menu displays "Service Data Items", "Add'l Work", "Confirmation".

5.No "Confirm" evident.

6. No "Complete Service" is available.

7.Cannot confirm "Complete Service".

The menu provided obviously does not work for my vehicle.

What suggestions do you have?

Jack

Hi Jack,

Ok - use the +or- buttons go down to "confirmation"

press the lower page button on the left of the wheel to confirm

you should then see a option for "total service"

Select this in a similar manner.

The service should then reset.

Let me know if this works ok.

Best regards, Paul
