instrument cluster not working (gas guage, speedometer, tach, odometer) 1988 420 sel
Hi, that's going to be a bad fuse causing the problem.
Standby and I'll give you the fuse number.
It will be fuse #6 in the fuse box.
any idea which one? I have checked and not found anything that appears blown
Replace the fuse and you'll be fine. Actually you can probably just roll it back and forth.
i will try. if that is not it can I still get help?
The fuses are notorious for poor connections at their tips.
i will try right now
Remove the fuse and look at it because the filament may be split and you can't see it.
I'll be here.
t
that was it
thanks

Thank you.
i have an additional question about another vehicle
How can I help you?
i have a 2001 jeep grand cherokee with dual climate control. the passenger side control olny blows cold regardless of the temp setting
On the Jeep this sounds like a bad blend door actuator or a broken blend door. When you adjust the temperature the motor adjusts the blend door for the desired heat setting. I would have the climate control system scanned for fault codes first. Next step will be to disassemble and inspect the actuator motors and doors.
