I have a 1989 Mercedes 560 SEL with color code 172. My rear bumper has a horizontal crach from left to right and I'd like to get a used one on EBay. The trouble is matching the color. My car's body paint is different from the bumper paint color. Were the bumpers consitently one color despite different body paint colors? Where can I get the right bumper paint if I end up buying a bumper and need to paint it?

Hi jgibbons, there were a few different bumper colors used throughout the years. Any Mercedes body shop can mix and match the paint for you based on the color code. If you post your vin # XXXXX can tell you what color you have.
