Hello and welcome to justanswer.com

You need to call up the service items numbers to determine which service you need. Here is the procedure to call up those items and then clear the light. Let me know which number item you need so I can tell you what service is due.

Service Item Menu

To determine the actual "Service Items" required (Serv. 1-20 and additional work), you must call up the "Service Menu" in the multifunction display.

Calling up the service item menu

Note: Shown on E-Class (211), other models similar.

  • Turn the key to position 1. The standard display of the multifunction display appears. This is indicated when the Trip and Odometer readings are shown in the display (A1p13).

    • Briefly press the trip odometer (A1s3) reset button 3 times.

Note: As of 9-1-2003, an acoustic signal can be heard and the voltage is shown in the multifunction display.

    • Confirm selection with the lower system selection button (S110s3). Read off and note service items to be performed.
    • Press lower + and - buttons, adjustment of specific functions and volume control (S111s1) repeatedly to display and note down all the service items to be performed.
