GreetingsWelcome to the site. Well, it is quite common a scenario where a baby who is as old as your son , who is oblivious to relationships , would become cranky when held by some individuals while remain cheerful with others, it is basically the perception of the baby which makes him uncomfortable around some individuals without any reason. So usually as time passes by and the baby grows and gets to learn more about his relations he becomes more and more comfortable with such people, so one thing is to wait and not to pressurise the baby in any way. The other strategy is to ask the grandpa to take some time when you visit him before he holds the baby, he should allow the baby to acquaint himself with the alien surroundings and to know more about people around him. Let the baby get comfortable around the place and then the grandpa may approach him but still not grab him but sit beside him for some time or lay around him. Ask the grandpa to wear some clothes which have pictures of cartoon characters or funny animals which can entice the baby. Also if the baby has a favorite toy that he plays with, ask the grandpa to use that to play with him or at least try to allure him with that soft toy. Basically, the grandpa has to make an extra effort to get the baby acquainted to himself, so before he shall grab him, he should try all of these tricks to make the baby feel secure around him and then the baby would not cry if the grandpa holds him.Lastly, if all of this fails, do not get discouraged but continue the strategy persistently and give some time to the baby to catch up, eventually he will stop crying, so please in haste do not put any sort of pressure on the baby. I hope this makes sense. Wish you all the best. Please kindly leave a POSITIVE RATING if you are satisfied with the answer. Regards
