Hello
You are not in chat.
Your post sat in mental health unanswered, so I was alerted to it.

I use EMDR with my patients fairly extensively.
What is your question
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

hi dr.my problem briefly after ptsd and trauma happened in my house I develop ptsd then dissection.i took midctions I get out that.then I stop midcines where I get in problem again.after that I ask in my countrie to do emdr they refused, they told me we cant make emdr while there is dissection.then I traveld to another country and did 20 emdr sessions.once I get back to trauma place things get very very worse

I start having flashbacks always.all symtoms increase.i took midctions but useless.i cant get out dissection any more.i want to know what happened?

Sorry do you mean dissociation?

What do you mean by dissection?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

yes dissociation

As a matter of fact, dissociation can be helped with EMDR as long as you are working also with a psychotherapist.

Does this answer your question?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

no.i want to know why I cant get out dissociation any more.why I get negative effect with emdr?

You can have a negative effect if it brings up past trauma that the therapist is not able to integrate into therapy.

In this case EMDR is too much.

Other techniques with the psychotherapy such as hypnosis might be more appropriate in that case.

ok what I can do now?to remove that?

You will have to have a good, trained psychotherapist, a PhD clinical psychologist, or a psychiatrist that does therapy. Usually these days it is a psychologist.

but how suppose emdr to help me if it is make things worse?

It is not.
You are supposed to do other things now, not EMDR.
As I already explained.
Maybe EMDR later when you have had other techniques.

do you mean doing hypnosis?

Let me explain it another way.
Techniques like hypnosis and EMDR are only part of psychotherapy.

So when one is not helping, the therapist should continue with therapy and use other techniques that are needed as assessed.

So, it might be hypnosis right now; it might be cognitive therapy, it might be cathartic therapy or psychoanalysis.
Depends on the therapists assessment of you, in person.
