I believe I can help you with your concern
I am so sorry to hear about your daughter, I can imagine how distressing this must be for her and you to see
I believe your daughter is most likely suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) because of her symptoms, past abuse, and she most likely was self-medicating with drugs and alcohol
Now 6 months in jail will not benefit her, although I have worked in a number of forensic facilities including jails, she will get medication and some limited treatment, it most likely will not benefit her for her symptoms.
I forgot to tell you that she had 3 DUI over 5 years ago I know that but is that all you can tell me???
I think if she can do her time in a locked facility that treats addictions and psychological disorders, it would be better for her.
Some jurisdictions will allow this to prevent recidivism, so that she does not enter back into the correctional system again.
Well I can tell you more, what would you like to know exactly?
This is my area of expertise as a Forensic Psychologist
I'm sure that it would, but I can tell you truly that she does not abuse drugs. She has scripts for PERASET AND zANEX But she hardly ever takes them because she has seen what it has done to her friends
That is good that she does not abuse them, and you are right they are very physically addicting. But she does have an issue with alcohol and I think she may have been self-medicating with that, which is understandable given the trauma she has experienced.
I totally agree. She goes for plea bargin tomorrow.
Well then it may be too late unfortunately to work out a deal for a locked facility. You can try giving her these treatment books for her to work on for her PTSD symptoms so that she does not have to rely on alcohol anymore
They do have substance abuse counseling in jail as well and she may get some benefit from that too
