What exactly is your diagnosis given by your physician?
are you also suffering from any medical condition and taking medicines for it?
Kindly mention the dose of Celexa you are currently taking?
Have you noticed any improvement or not?
Thanks for you reply. Kindly also answer the other questions so that I can give you a suitable reply.
I have had trouble sleeping for the last year. My doctor put me on temazepam 30 mgs. which allows me to sleep 4-5 hours.
I am also on verapamil 180 mgs per day with clonidine .1mg bid for hypertension. I am starting to get mentally eshausted from my brain not shutting down and resting. My doctor ordered the celexa for depression/anxiety
Thanks for your reply..
I am going to suggest a treatment modification about which you can discuss with your doctor.
You are having difficulty in sleeping therefore adding a sedating antidepressant can be a very useful option in your case. Your doctor can consider the option of adding a low dose of Mirtazapine (Remeron) 7.5 mg at night along with Celexa. Remeron is a very sedating antidepressant which is specially indicated in patients complaining of trouble in sleeping. Remeron itself is a very effective antianxiety and antidepressant medicine and thus will also augment the effect of Celexa.
After adding Remeron, there will be no need to take Temazepam in my view, which can be taper down and stopped by your doctor.
Please feel free to discuss further if you have any doubt or query regarding my suggestion.
Thank you for the information I will ask my doctor about adding remeron. I am still concerned with my brain unable to stop thinking all day and all night even while I am sleeping, What is causing this. They are nit bad thoughts, just continuous thought. Please answer as soon as possible. I value your feedback
