Dr. L :

Tell me as much as you can...

Customer:

i feel deppressed

Customer:

and sad

Dr. L :

Do you feel that right now?

Customer:

yes

Customer:

too much

Dr. L :

Okay. Take a deep breath...count to 10 as you slowly, slowly take a breath...

Dr. L :

Can you do that?

Customer:

i want to feel

Customer:

to laugh

Customer:

to have girl friend

Customer:

to feel of wind

Dr. L :

Yes...I understand you want to have a full range of emotions and that does not feel possible right now.

Customer:

of birds

Customer:

of songs

Dr. L :

Can you try taking that deep breath...

Customer:

i dont know what to do

Dr. L :

Let's get you calmed down and then we can go from there...

Dr. L :

Try taking that slow deep breath...

Customer:

ok

Dr. L :

Take several more of those deep breaths...

Customer:

manythings

Customer:

i can remember

Customer:

in journy

Customer:

manythings

Customer:

but not all

Dr. L :

Stop thinking about that right now and concentrate on breathing...

Customer:

some are missing

Dr. L :

We will get back to that in a few minutes...

Dr. L :

Those memories can come back...but right now you have to get back to today.

Customer:

yes

Customer:

i feel better now

Customer:

i feel good

Customer:

ok

Dr. L :

Whenever you get distressed...check your breathing. If you are breathing shallow or very fast...then slow down your breathing and take the air in slowly and deeply. This will help calm you down.

Dr. L :

Do you drive a car?

Customer:

yes

Customer:

i like driving

Dr. L :

Do you know what it feels like when you press the gas pedal very hard and fast?

Customer:

what?"-)

Customer:

:-)

Dr. L :

When you are in the car and you push the gas pedal down hard, the car zooms very fast...right?

Customer:

yes:-)

Dr. L :

That is what happens to you when you feel scared about your journey memories...your heart rate increases and you are zooming in your mind.

Customer:

i see

Dr. L :

You are zooming so fast that you can't find those memories and then you get sad and depressed.

Customer:

but there is something

Customer:

i dont understand it

Customer:

when i came here for the first time

Customer:

and get out dissoiation

Dr. L :

When you take your foot off the gas pedal the car slows down. And that also happens when you put the brakes on.

Dr. L :

So...when you feel your mind zooming...you need to put the brakes on. You can do that by slowing down your breathing.

Customer:

my body try to remember how he came here he couldnt!!then he told me that this place is not real i feel big problem and enter hospital

Customer:

so because of that

Customer:

am igonring myself

Customer:

because i fear the same thing happend again

Dr. L :

I can understand why you would fear this happening again.

Dr. L :

When you begin to get scared, then do the breathing to slow down. Look around at where you are and get your mind to focus on where you are, who you are with, what is happening around you. That will help you re-connect with the world.

Dr. L :

You must stay on your medication as that is also helping you with the fugue state.

Customer:

ok

Dr. L :

And you must continue to see your psychiatrist so that you are being monitored on the medication.

Customer:

but why fugue happend

Customer:

why in canada there are fugue and in jordan no

Dr. L :

I don't know why the fugue happened. It could have been the stress of leaving Jordan. It could have been all the unknowns you were facing in Canada. There could be many, many things that led to this happening.

Dr. L :

In Jordan you feel safe and are surrounded by family and friends. In Canada you are alone in the world...it is all unknown and strange.

Dr. L :

There is pressure in Canada to do well in your studies. In Jordan you have support.

Dr. L :

In Jordan there is loving family and a home. In Canada it is all unknown and scary.

Customer:

so i think it is anixety and stress

Dr. L :

Yes. I think anxiety and stress may have overwhelmed you.

Customer:

ok

Dr. L :

You were not able to cope with the overwhelming changes.

Customer:

do you know anything about remeron?

Dr. L :

I am not a psychiatrist or physician so I do not have expertise with this medication.

Dr. L :

I am sorry.

Customer:

ok

Customer:

i see

Customer:

thank you very much mr

Customer:

i hope things gets better
