Under what circumstances are lobotomies OKMH45211

This answer was rated:

Under what circumstances are lobotomies to occur when a patient has schizophrenia? Can it be for social-cognition problems? Are they compulsory?

Lobotomies are no longer used for the treatment of mentally ill patients. Even in cases where the victim was at great risk of harming themselves or others, lobotomies would be considered as absolute last resorts these days. Lobotomies are only used in very rare cases of severe obsessive compulsive disorder. In the days of labotomies the concept of informed consent didn't exist.
