Seeking expert counseling is a sign of strength. A personal relationship with a caring professional is proven clinically effective.
People with schizophrenia are not really lazy, but they can appear to be because of the symptoms of schizophrenia, and because of the side effects of medications that are used in its treatment.
They seem to lack energy and motivation and find it hard to stay on schedule. They may keep irregular hours and sleep too much or not enough.
They may stay in med or watch TV a great deal.
They may show little interest in finding a job.
They can be very frustrating to loved ones and don't seem to care about how they are or about how others perceive them. In fact, they may have trouble with relationships in general.
A lot has to do with their low level of energy and it is not something they can just snap out of.
They are not lazy and do not have character flaws.
They are just this way because of the disorder and should be given tolerance, accommodation and support.
I hope that I have answered your question. Please let me know.
