Seeking expert counseling is a sign of strength. A personal relationship with a caring professional is proven clinically effective.
I believe that I can help you.
It is very possible that you too could have this disorder, as it runs in families.
Those with cyclothymia are either chronically elated or depressed, but never have full mania or major depression. It is a mild form of bipolar disorder.
Only a face-to-face assessment can tell for sure.
is there a likely hood that her twin will develope this disorder as well?
It is possible since they have the same gene AND the same environment. Keep a close watch.
Who diagnosed her?
her Doctor in Nebrska
GP or psychiatrist?
she said it took serveral months
i belive both were evenually invold
Was the doctor a psychiatrist?
Or did you mean there were two doctors?
not sure......She needs to see one?
there were two i believe as GP could not find answers
I would not start a course of psychiatric medication without getting an opinion of a mental health expert who knows about mood disorders. A psychiatrist or an MD can subscribe, but a psychiatrist is a much better diagnostician.
okay make sense
how could i not know if I have this disorder as well
She may not have this. It could be just hormonal changes or possible personal problems (boys?)
See the same psychiatrist. Go together.
