Hello- Thank you for asking the question. I have over 30 years of experience working with individuals, couples and families & am happy to reply.

IF you are trying to withdraw from Meth- Benzos- also highly addictive are typically NOT used as one can safely withdraw from Methamphetamine without lorazepam or any other benzodiazapine.

For people who have been taking large doses, symptoms may be limited by weaning them off the medication, antidepressants may also be helpful.

For more information on Meth withdrawal- see this link:

Coming off crystal meth with anxiety and anger!
Expert:  Bill replied 4 years ago.
Bill-

How long have you been coming off Crystal and do you have access to any medical care?

You will get some short term benefit from lorazepam but the SSRI antidepressants are best for the anxiety, agitation and anger.

If you need medical assistance, respond with your Zip Code and I will be happy to identify resources in your community.

Kind regards, Bill
