male bad temper, hypersensitivity, very volatile, cries a lot, reluctant to take decisions, wants to be on his own. Very critical of wife and children. It is like walking on egg shells. One minute charming, the next shouting at someone. Suggestions?

I have several. Making a diagnosis is very difficult but a mood disorder can have these behaviors. Depressive symptoms can include irritability, hopelessness, poor concentration, sadness, tearfulness, isolative behavior and aggression. This can happen very quickly with being depressed one day and not depressed the next. Bipolar means two poles. This means that one day you may be depressed while the other you may be manic. Mania is an elevated sense of mood where you may feel irritable, angry, but have compulsive behaviors as times. This can be anything from drug use, to shopping, to gambling, to just having racing thoughts. This can cycle very quickly. You can find a therapist by logging onto the American Psychological Association. Then you can be evaluated for any mental health symptom.
