Hi,I have had Bi Polar for over 35 years now and my husband of 5 years is complaining that I am not getting the dishes done and the meals cooked.I have been using our embroidery machine to embroider hand towels for a special function but do have trouble in the kitchen with my hands in the water. Is this common?
Hello- Thank you for asking the question. I have over 30 years of experience working with individuals, couples and families & am happy to reply.
I am sorry to hear about the feelings you have been having and the stress your are experiencing in the relationship with your husband.
The fact that you are also experiencing sensitivity in your hands while they are in the water (particularly if it is a cold sensation or tingly feeling) could have some association with the stress, Bipolar and thyroid related problems such as Raynauds Syndrome.
This is only speculation and this could also be associate with other problems such as arthritis fibromyalgia, peripheral neuropathy and a host of other age related medical issues that could be effecting this.
Persons with BiPolar Illness who are under stress can have an increased sensitivity to many physically related problem such as identified above.
The best thing to do is to have this checked by your Doctor to rule out any other medical conditions that are presently unknown to you.
Use the Symptom Checker at the following link to assess possible issues.

Again, I would suggest that you try and limit stress and have this hand sensitivity issue checked by your Doctor.
