what type of medication is needed?
Hi again,You'd need to speak to a psychiatrist to discuss specific medications. However, most commonly, drugs known as ssris are prescribed to alleviate the symptoms. Remember that medication is not a cure and that a combination of medication and psychotherapy is usually best. You can read about the medications typically used here : http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/social-anxiety-disorder/ds00595/dsection=treatments-and-drugsBest wishes.
