The best treatment for neurosis is psychotherapy. It has minimal, if any, risks as long as you have a decent therapist. I am also a big advocate of learning formal relaxation therapy, by which I mean yoga, meditation
, or similar methods. Having relaxing hobbies is also important, but not quite the same as formal relaxation therapy.
Psychotherapy & relaxation therapy are proven by sophisticated studies using brain scans (CT, MRI, EEG, pet scans) to improve brain function.
As far as not having time, I certainly understand that. Modern life can be busy, difficult, and stressful. The key to emotional & physical health is balancing your life...which can be a juggling act.
The question you have to ask yourself is can you afford not to make time? Even if you start slowly (15 minutes of meditation 3X/week, e.g.)
Nutrition & exercise are vital aspects of balancing your life, but I think the 1st 2 ideas are the best for you (psychotherapy & meditatio or other relaxation therapy).
I hope this helps. Let me know if you need more feedback. Good luck & take care.
