Before I was diagnosed as schizophrenic I had a severe Cocaine addiction when I got clean the symptoms i suffer with presented this may sound stupid but could the cocaine have been suppressing the symptoms could it make them stop talking to me?!

Thank you for your question. This is not a stupid question and I appreciate you asking this important inquiry. You are correct, people some time use cocaine to cope with symptoms of schizophrenia. Also some research has shown that the use of drugs may either trigger a mental illness such as schizophrenia or mimic symptoms of schizophrenia. Research has also shown a genetic component to schizophrenia, thus drug abuse can trigger the mental illness.
