I was in a car accident on Dec. 8. A verrrry sloow accident where a cement truck went through a stop sign and didn't see me and sloowly moved into my driver door. The door window shattered and I screamed and screamed. Have been all over the emotional map since then. Irritable, jumpy, weepy, nervous, anxious, with an undercurrent of trust that it will work out. Should I be seeking professional help and if so, what kind can be most quickly effective. My symptoms are not enhancing my work or the holiday.s

Carol Kryder LMFT :

Hello and Welcome to JustAnswer. Your question is not closed until you are satisfied. I am happy to assist you with your question.

Carol Kryder LMFT :

You do have some symptoms of PTSD, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The treatment of choice is cognitive-behavioral therapy, which I do recommend, so that you can learn strategies for coping with the symptoms. You may also try EMDR, which is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprograming therapy, used for trauma.

Carol Kryder LMFT :

This is very treatable, and seeing a specialist in PTSD will make your life much more pleasant.

Carol Kryder LMFT :

Best to you
