Acupuncture is safe to do while on your medication. If they recommend any type of herbal or supplements though, get the list of ingredients and let your doctor check them out first. Some people find that acupuncture does help with the physical feelings/symptoms of anxiety (muscle tension, headaches, racing heart, etc).

You might also want to research "coherent breathing techniques" online and learn those. Usually it is a pattern of breathing for 4-5 second in and 6-5 seconds out. This rhythmic type breathing seems to calm down the body's natural fight-or-flight stress response and have been shown to be very effective in dealing with anxiety. The best part is you can do it any time, any where, for free!

Your acupuncturist might also teach you some breathing techniques to help too.
