Resolved Question:

I have a constant feeling of tenseness and nervousness. I find it almost impossible to relax. I am feeling tired all the time and have started grinding my teeth. Although I know I am good at what I do, my self confidence is pretty low and I have become self conscious. I have noticed that I have become less social and withdrawn. These symptoms have been getting worse over the past few months and are now starting to make me feel down.

Good Morning,

The symptoms may be cased by different things such as : sleep disorder (Ex sleep apnea) anxiety and/or depression. In many cases the sleep disorder triggers similar symptoms as those who are clinically depressed.

Try to inventory what may be cause of your symptoms to have increased in the recent months (job burn out, family/financial stressors, physical health, etc)

An evaluation by a psychiatrist may be something to consider (the MD can diagnose or rule out possibilities as well as prescribe medication if needed) Other options would be to have a sleep study and check your thyroid function.

There are also natural supplements such as GABA, Magnesium, L-tryptophan, 5-HTP to take at bed time. Vitamin D, B-complex and Omega supplements during the day.
