Hi. I have had many traumatic experiences trough my whole life.

Hi. I have had many traumatic experiences trough my whole life. Been treated for depression for 2 years with no improvement. Seams like i am getting worse. I did hurt myself many times during last 2 years, overdosed on pills. I cant get any better and its ruining my life. I am 34 years old. A woman. I gave up on my gp as i cant get any help. I used to be a normal, calm and happy person before and now i am not myself any longer. i dont know where to turn for help. And i do know that i need it.

Good Morning,

 

You are describing medication resistant depression. Support groups offer some help as you've mentioned having used such a group. Individual counseling also is something that can be helpful such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or Reality Therapy aka Choice Theory.

 

Other things that people also use are hypnosis, change in diet, exercise or natural supplementation. www.truehope.com

 

 

As a last resort some individuals consider ECT or Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation.
