Hello vinney,

Most cocaine addict do not come to treatment voluntarily and I must first of all congratulate you for this that you are on the recovery phase which shows your fighting spirit.

For cocaine dependence there are variety of treatment options available which have been approved for other disorders but are also being tried for cocaine dependence and relapse prevention.

You have already tried a lot of them and I am going to enlist others which are also being tried and used for cocaine dependence.

  • Tricyclic antidepressants such as desipramine and imipramine according to some studies have yielded positive results while others could not find any significant benefit except when used very early.
  • Another antidepressants such as Bupropion, SSRIs (Fluoxetine, Zoloft, Lexapro) have also been tried with mixed results.
  • Lithium , Antipsychotics such as Flupenthixol, Depakote (which you have already tried), carbamazepine has been tried with mixed results.
  • As mentioned in literature "one study found that 300 mg a day of phenytoin (Dilantion) reduces cocaine use" and you can discuss about it with your treating doctor.
In your case it appears to me that you have never been on SSRIs such as Fluoxetine or TCA such as Imipramine which are antidepressants and can also take care of your anxiety and depression related symptoms as well as may be useful for cocaine dependence.

Another drug which you can discuss with your doctor is Phenytoin as I mentioned earlier

If you have any other query, please feel free to ask.

Best wishes
