I am laboring under a terrible guilty conscience, I am not

Resolved Question:

I am laboring under a terrible guilty conscience, I am not a bad man but have made some terrible mistakes which have really hurt the people I love. I have tried to move on & put things right but have told no-one & it just keeps coming back to haunt me, undermining my best efforts.

Feelings of persistent guilt may be a sign of a larger problem such as depression. If possible, you should discuss these symptoms with counsellor who is trained in the mental health field to determine if treatment for depression with medications and/or counselling is needed. I suspect that having a trusted professional to discuss your feelings with and learning how to better cope with your feelings of guilt will be greatly helpful to you.

Best wishes.
