Customer Question

Have a 92 W900 the steering was perfect until we pulled the yolk off to straighten the steering wheel, we made sure everything was lined up in order to put the bolt back in yolk however now even Turing left or right there is a hard spot in the turn at about 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock position. Replaced yolks and still doing it. Never had a single issue until we pulled it off to straighten the wheel out. What could this be?

Hi Kyle,

This sounds like the timing of steering shaft got out of time

Look at both u-joints on steering shaft, both yokes need to be inline with each other or wheel will bind in both direction

The u-joint caps need to be in a straight line from each another.

To fix remove yoke from box and pull slip yoke out of shaft and turn to line up joints and put back together.
