JA: What is the complete model and serial number of your machine?
Customer: I don't know this is for a friend, he is 700 miles north
JA: Are you fixing this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: He pulled over and shut down , checked what he could than fired up and light stayed off at that point
JA: Anything else you want the equipment mechanic to know before I connect you?

Code 98 is defined as an engine coolant diverter valve fault. I see this a lot. There are two things that can cause this code.The first and most common is a damage wiring harness. Many times it gets hot due to the location near the turbos. Over time the heat damages the wiring.
Second is a faulty coolant diverter valve.Please reply back if you need more help or have more questions. I am happy to assist.
