Was looking at buying a 98 truck with a co, Don't have it in

Customer Question

Was looking at buying a 98 truck with a co
JA: What is the complete model and serial number of your machine?
Customer: Don't have it in have left the area. But my question is quite general concerning reading codes using the cruise control
JA: Are you fixing this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: When test driving the truck after trying the cruise control it would flash the check engine and stop engine light for a few seconds then both would go out. The engine however continued to run perfect. Tried to use the cruise resume sequence to check for a code but nothing. Also the cruise control didn't work other than turning the green light on in the dash.
JA: Anything else you want the equipment mechanic to know before I connect you?

Hi, My name is ***** ***** I'm here to help you,

What manufacturer is the truck?

Expert:  Doug Barnowski replied 2 months ago.

When the stop engine light is on it means the coolant is low or there is no oil pressure. The cruise control not working because either the micro switches are not working on the brake/clutch pedals or the vehicle speed sensor is not talking to ecu, or there is a wiring problem. i hope this answers your questions.
