have a kodiak 5500 ac issue
JA: Have you checked the Freon level?
Customer: at first there was no freon the compressor was bad. I put in a new compressor without the high pressure switch and now there is freon and the leak has stopped
JA: What is the model of your '3500 Chevy?
Customer: not a 3500 it is a kodiak 5500
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: The ground to the A.C relay is not there. If a ground is applied to the ac relay the compressor engages and the system works. The low pressure switch is closed and passing the 12 volts. I have jumped out and also taken the jump wire off the high pressure switch hoping the ground circuit from the PCM would close but it does not close

the ground for the 86 wire is from the switches in the dash

open that up and make sure you have ground
