I want to replace injectors on an older 3208, It lost power

Customer Question

I want to replace injectors on an older 3208
JA: We'll do all we can to help. Tell me a bit more about what's going on so the Heavy Equipment Mechanic can help you best.
Customer: It lost power started and started making noise. I'm going to replace the fuel filter and I'm pretty sure one or more of the injectors are bad or dirty
JA: Is there anything else the Heavy Equipment Mechanic should be aware of?
Customer: Not that I can think of it's in a motorhome and otherwise runs extremely well. It only has 87,000 miles. It's a motorhome with a lot of power but not so much as it had. It also doesn't start as easy as it used to
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Heavy Equipment Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.

Thanks for asking your question. I will try and help you out.
Replacing the injectors is not hard at all. You'll need to remove the valve cover and disconnect the fuel lines. Then tap up the thru head adapter off the injector. Then remove the rocker arm assembly. Then remove the injector hold down bolt. Then use a ladies foot prybar to remove the injector. Both the injectors and rocker shaft bolts torque to 18 foot pounds. You will also need to re adjust the overhead. Here is the procedure.https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/11922365/1dd.pdfPlease reply back if you need more help or have more questions. I am happy to assist.

How do you prime the pump when you change the 2 filters
Expert:  Wayne replied 5 months ago.

HI

the pump is self priming

just make sure that you fill the filters with clean fuel

hold the pedal to floor while cranking and this will get it primed
