Hi I'm Wayne

I will help you with this

Thank you for requesting me

1st off what is battery voltage before cranking, 13.2 or more

how old are the batteries

2nd how long will it crank before stops and batteries die

let me know , Please

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Batteries test good. Engine will crank, after full charge, for 15 seconds.
Expert:  Wayne replied 9 months ago.

Thank you for that

15 sec is not enough cranking power or time,

they should go 2-3 minutes

go to starter and check voltage before and during cranking

let me know, Please

I am here in Cordova, AK. I am trying to repair his truck as quick as possible to be able to get supplies. Cordova is a island. Could you tell me in sequence if the voltage checks out. Like a flow chart. This would help.
Expert:  Wayne replied 9 months ago.

Thank you for that

Yes you have 2 batteries, each should test to 13.2 volts

if you are using a battery tester carbon pile

it should not drop below 10.7 volts after 15 seconds

if it does it is faulty battery

at the starter , voltage should be 13.2 volts and not drop below 11 volts during a 15-20 sec cranking

I hope this helped you

If this checks out, what is the next thing to look at. There is no power at the gauges when the switch is on.
Expert:  Wayne replied 9 months ago.

HI

I know you are in a hurry

but low batteries will put the gauges out

need to fix this issue 1st , from what you are telling me

and I not being there, you have faulty batteries, may have 1or2 dead cells

or it can be the starter faulty ,drawing heavy amps,

but we will not know, until the batteries are Guarantee good
