I HAVE A BIG CAM CUMMINS 400, AND MY COOLANT PRE-HEATERS DO

Customer Question

I HAVE A BIG CAM CUMMINS 400, AND MY COOLANT PRE-HEATERS DO NOT LAST,
AND BURN OUT IN A MONTH OR TWO.
I HAVE REPLACED MANY.
IS THERE A HEAVY DUTY ENGINE BLOCK HEATER OUT THERE ANYWHERE, THAT LASTS?
ARE THOSE STICK ON THE OIL PAN HEATERS A GOOD SOLUTION?

Good morning, sorry for delay, my name is ***** ***** you for asking your question, I will try and help you out.

Dipstick heaters don't last I would install a oil pan plug heater click here

The heaters you have that keep failing, usually will keep failing if they are plugged into a long extension cord or the outlet they are plugged into doesn't have enough amps,,you should have them connected to a 20 amp outlet and use a heavy gauge extension cord if needed. The longer and thinner the cord reduces amperage and will keep burning them up.

Depending on how cold it gets where you are at if you install both types of heaters (coolant and oil) they will not have to work as hard and will last for years.

Please take a moment to rate my service so that I can get credit for my time from the web site.
The question will still remain open for follow up questions if needed.
Thanks
spanky
