I had a welder do some welding on my Volvo Truck { } He did

I had a welder do some welding on my Volvo Truck { Cumming } He did not disconnect the battery cables to the truck. When he finished, I put the cables back on to the batteries. the truck will not start. I can start the truck with starting fluid but it will not stay running. I have been told the ECM has been shorted out.

Hello and welcome to Just Answer! I would be more than happy to assist you today.first check all fuses in the dash and battery box if all good then you are correct the ecm has been damaged due to the high current that was back fed. When welding you need to disconnect the batteries and ecm harness connections to ensure that it will not be damaged
