I'm presuming this is the auto shift version? With the auto shift version, it will not allow a start because the shifter isn't in neytral. The likely cause is the shift motor is burned up and not moving the shifter.
Try turning the key to the on position, then go to off and back to on 6 times and see if the shifter will do a "reset" on the shifter. If not, see if you can bump the truck from the rear while turning the key on and that the transmission will move slightly to allow the shifter motor to try and move the shifter rod into neutral. If no luck, then there is no other option then to replace the shifter motor on the transmission.
