dt466 died on the road won't restart check engine came on for a second replaced ipr still no start will run on either but won't continue to run

have you checked HPOP,(high pressure oil pump)

you need 500 PSI during cranking

Hi

If the observed ICP pressure during cranking is less than the required 500 PSI, then the problem is in the high pressure oil system. One of the first checks that should be made is to remove the plug from the top of the high pressure oil reservoir (in front of the fuel filter) to observe if the reservoir is full. If the oil is standing within an inch of the top of the reservoir, then the problem is in the high pressure oil system and could be caused by one of three things:

While waiting for your response I made up a gauge and put inline where i believe it goes to the reservoir and cranked it it goes to 700 psi so if this is the right place to tap it in my hpop should be good correct ?

was the reservoir full of oil, or low

I didn't see a plug on top of the reservoir only on the end , however i did remove what i think is the low pressure sensor and a lot of oil rushed out of it .It is midway on the reservoir above the fuel filter

i know its not the thing to do but i have changed out the low oil sensor with a used off of another truck that is running so im pretty sure it's a good one

you said it will fire on either

remove the valve cover

and crank and start see if you see ooil pouring out of the valve train

should not be any

also just removed my gauge and i don't feel like i got enough oil drainage from the hose if it is full i still cannot find a plug

ok maybe i am confused on what the reservoir is i am looking at the part that sits above my fuel filter stretches the length of the block and has a port for a sensor and a port for the oil line coming from the hpop . Or is the reservoir in the hpop itself i do see a plug on the top of it .
