Since there are no faults present there is not an issue AS Per Cummins the High Exhaust System Temperature (HEST) Lamp indicates Higher-than-normal exhaust temperatures may exist due to active DPF regeneration.Operator should make sure the exhaust pipe outlet is not directed at any surface or material that may become hazardous
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
OK, so if the system completes regeneration and there are no fault codes then we can ignore the high temp alarm.
Expert:  cumminsdr replied 1 year ago.
If there was a true high temp issue the Aftertreatment system would trip a fault code and you would NOT be able to perform a regen due to the system protecting it's self from damage until the fault was resolved.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Each time the system was still regenerating after the high temp alarm displayed. I forced stopped the regeneration's because I was scarred of damaging the DPF or DOC. I will try again and see if it either completes or gives a fault and shuts itself down.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Can I contact you again if I receive a fault code?
Expert:  cumminsdr replied 1 year ago.
Let the regen go till it completes If there is a issue you will get a fault code and it will automatically stop the regen to protect the system. It is the normal process. If you get a code i will be here to assist. A regen can take up to 2 1/2 hrs to complete
