I have a 2010 ihc citystar with maxxforce5 78000 miles it has

I have a 2010 ihc citystar with maxxforce5 78000 miles it has an issue with 1-2 shift if you are full throttle the engine will go to 3200 and cycle for a few seconds, then shift to second gear. if you manually select 2nd or 3rd no problems only if you select drive will it have issues. engine rated @ 200hp @ 2700. if you are at partial throttle it will shift like it should. it has engine module codes of 2372 fuel pressure below normal. fmi1,spn94. 2614 fuel pump relay circuit fault fmi10, spn 7277, and a unknown dtc 191:8 trans shaft speed, abnormal frequency or pulse width or period. spn 191 fmi 8. I had the codes cleared but did not help matters.

I will send you the performance troubleshooter for the maxxforce 5 engine . This should help us narrow down the issue with the engine . We want to make sure that engine is performing as it should before we go to transmission issues because the tranny won't shift correctly at at right times when the engine is not working right . DTC
2372 Fuel pressure below normal
Possible causes:
Dirty fuel filter
Fuel inlet restriction
Debris in fuel regulator
Failed fuel pump
EFP circuit OPEN
Failed EFP switch
Connector Voltage Check Clear DTC. Disconnect sensor connector. Turn ignition switch to ON. Use DMM to measure voltage.

Short EFP circuit to GND. Start engine. If DTC does not set, check actual fuel pressure. If within specification, then replace EFP switch.
Harness Resistance Check Turn ignition switch OFF. Connect breakout box. Leave ECM and sensor disconnected. Use DMM to measure resistance.

EFP Circuit Operation
Fault Detection / Management
The ECM monitors the EFP switch when the engine is running. If signal voltage is not 0 V while the engine is running, a DTC will be set. The EFP switch is a normally OPEN switch and closes at 30 psi.

Low fuel pressure will have the same effect . It will cause low power and will feel like tranny is hanging up too . And since you have codes for it , I believe we should start there .

the vehicle does not have a low power issue it comes to full redline and even cycles the engine a few times at 32-3300 before shifting into 2nd.. fuel filters have been changed also.. will have the tech look at the fuel system..

my tech says how am I going to tap in and get the fuel pressure? he has ihc software on the laptop but does not stream info on this truck for some reason.

There is no fuel pressure sensor I believe on those models . You will need to check fuel pressure with a gauge .
Also , listen for a hum at key on . This is to tell us if the fuel pump is enrgizing .
